Media Arts Teacher
At Kingsley College, we believe education should shape both intellect and character. As a Christ-centred P–12 school in North Rockhampton, we serve a diverse student community — including 25% Indigenous students — and work every day to break cycles of disadvantage through meaningful learning and relational care.
Our teachers are disciples, mentors, and leaders. You'll join a team that values innovation, teamwork, and spiritual growth, in a culture that actively supports you to do work that matters — and lasts.
Your Calling in the ClassroomThis isn't a one-size-fits-all role. Kingsley College is hiring a Media Arts Teacher across Years 7–12.
Depending on your skills and interests, you may deliver one or both of these creative disciplines — with flexibility to shape the role around your strengths.
What you'll do:
- Deliver engaging content in Media Arts
- Teach in both classroom and distance education modes
- Use creative technologies (e.g. 3D printing, laser cutting) in modern learning
- Collaborate with staff to support a wide range of student needs
- Encourage learning through relationships, not just rules
You'll work in a school that's small enough to care deeply, but bold enough to innovate.
Your Onboarding Journey: Supported from Day OneWe know your first weeks set the tone for your success — so we've built our onboarding to reflect our values.
- Start with a full Professional Development week before term begins
- Step into a role with clear handover notes, unit plans and resources
- Learn side-by-side with experienced and welcoming staff
- Get ongoing support navigating systems, culture and student needs
- Feel safe to ask questions, grow fast, and teach with confidence
Whether you're just starting out or bringing years of experience, you'll feel the support from day one.
Is This You? – The Educator We're Looking For
You're a qualified teacher registered in Queensland — either early career or experienced — who is excited about teaching creatively and relationally. Primary-trained teachers confident to teach junior secondary are welcome to apply.
We value:
- Experience or interest in either Film, TV and/or New Media
- Confidence using modern tools like 3D printing or multimedia editing
- Understanding of trauma-informed practice and diverse classrooms
- Cultural competence and/or experience working with Indigenous students
- Alignment with Christian values and lifestyle requirements
Soft skills that matter:
- You lead with heart, not ego
- You build trust before compliance
- You're relational, flexible, and invested in each student's potential
- You're motivated by service, not status
- Salary: $86,600-$124,725 (aligned with Catholic sector rates)
- Relocation support up to $10,000
- Annual PD week + professional/spiritual development pathways
- Supportive mentoring, strong leadership and team connection
- Flexible teaching modes, including distance education
- Lifestyle: short commutes, nearby national parks and Great Barrier Reef access
- Affordable living in a welcoming regional city
- Opportunity to lead change, not just manage curriculum
If you're ready to teach with intention and be part of a school where your faith, creativity and purpose can thrive — apply now.
