    Overview

    The Maladjiny Research Centre ('Maladjiny') part of Kurongkurl Katitjin, Edith Cowan University. Researchers within Maladjiny specialise in health services research, epidemiology, and evidence synthesis with a focus on Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander children and families. The team within Maladjiny are a highly supportive and inclusive team of researchers and professional staff.

    This is a research-intensive position to support the Lead Investigator in completing the milestone activities of the NHMRC MRFF Grant entitled: "Koorlangka Keniny: A Music Program to improve the Health and Development of Aboriginal Children and Families". Broadly, the responsibilities of this position involve research and project management activities to meet the projects stated aims.

    This position is classified as a Section 50D position and will report to the Associate Dean, Research.

    The Role

    This position is responsible for the semi-autonomous coordination of a NHMRC MRFF grant. The role involves communication and liaison with stakeholders and project participants, including external agencies and parties, Aboriginal community members (including Elders) to ensure compliance with appropriate legislative and institutional requirements and the achievement of research project objectives.

    Your Key Responsibilities Will Include
    • Coordinate the implementation of the research proposal, in partnership with the Chief Investigator and Investigator team, to achieve the research aims as articulated by the research proposal.
    • Participate in consultation, engagement, recruitment, data collection and translation activities which includes driving to external sites as required.

    The Person

    We are ideally seeking the following experience. This position is classified as a Section 50D position under the Equal Opportunity Act 1984. Section 50D provides an organisation with the ability to advertise jobs targeting a racial group. All applicants must be assessed equitably against the selection criteria and meet the minimum requirements therein.
    • Tertiary qualification and strong subsequent experience OR equivalent level of expertise gained from a combination of experience, training, or professional accreditation. Higher degree qualification desirable.
    • Demonstrated research project management and organisational skills using broad range of administrative and management techniques to maximise the effectiveness of project team service delivery. Demonstrated successful research project management completion.
    • Knowledge of University administrative policies and interrelationships between the range of policies and activities would be an advantage.
    • Proven organisational and workload management skills including the ability to prioritise workload to meet strict deadlines. The ability to appreciate and manage resources (human, financial, physical, and environmental).
    • Hold and continue to retain a current C class drivers license in order to undertake the inherent requirements of the role.
