We are seeking experienced and strategic thinkers to join our team as a Principal Policy Officer. This is an exciting opportunity for individuals who want to play a central role in reviewing, developing, and implementing legislative and policy reforms in energy safety or building regulation.

The positions are full-time however part-time arrangement may be considered.

The Role

• Lead and manage projects including the physical, human and financial resources to deliver outcomes identified in the Branch Operational Plan.
• Provide professional/technical advice on the activities of the projects to Branch management.
• Ensure the Department meets its statutory obligations in relation to the implementation of policy projects and proposals for legislative change.
• Participate in operational and/or project planning to implement the Branch objectives.
• Ensure organisational aims and objectives in relation to policy and legislation review are achieved according to the Branch Operational Plan and the Department's Strategic Plan while complying with relevant legislation and Public Sector policies and standards.
• Participate in inter-agency working groups as part of the process of developing legislation/policy.
• Liaise with internal and external customers to ensure appropriate service delivery and improvement needs and expectations are met.
• Manage process and service improvements, efficiencies and integration within the Branch.
