Role description

Our Sustainability Advisory Team at Arcadis delivers advanced sustainability solutions in city shaping infrastructure built environment projects and corporate advisory. Our team is known for its client relationships, specialized skills, technical excellence, and innovation, earning recognition both within Arcadis and from our clients.

To support our growing portfolio and expand our services, we are seeking a Sustainability Consultant to join our national team. In this role, you will help deliver sustainability solutions for built environment and infrastructure projects. Responsibilities include conducting energy, water, and materials modelling; preparing reports and presentations; building and maintaining client relationships; integrating sustainability goals into design and construction; developing decarbonization and net-zero strategies; addressing climate risks and resilience; and performing sustainability assessments using rating tools.

Role accountabilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Delivering elements of Infrastructure Sustainability Design and As-Built Ratings, as well as Green Star ratings across various stages of the project lifecycle;
  • Supporting and undertaking technical sustainability advisory work, including carbon and water modelling, decarbonisation, climate change risk assessments, general report writing and presentations, and cross-discipline coordination;
  • Input into client-facing interactions including supporting business development and project delivery;
  • Proactively delivering and managing the timely and quality delivery of sustainability advisory services, project-related tasks to meet budget, time-frame and quality targets, exceeding client expectations;
  • Identifying and implementing opportunities to improve sustainability outcomes for infrastructure and buildings projects;
  • Working in collaboration with other teams and disciplines to ensure the integrity of the overall design;
  • Gaining awareness of, and familiarity with, the commercial aspects of projects to develop commercial skills; and
  • Delivering Infrastructure Sustainability Ratings, Green Star and other sustainability ratings.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Demonstrated industry experience in Sustainability ideally 3-5 years in a similar professional consultancy role;
  • Proven communication, organisational, time management, and relationship building skills, both internally and externally;
  • Bachelor's degree in suitable discipline (i.e., Engineering or Science);
  • The ability to think outside the box to deliver sustainable solutions for our clients, and be a multidisciplinary worker;
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively with other members of the team;
  • Technically sound with demonstrated strong excel skills;
  • A flexible approach to challenges and possesses an ability to develop good relationships with internal and external clients;
  • The ability to work autonomously as well as being a proactive team player; and
  • Well-rounded consultant with strong relationship building skills.

The following certifications are preferred but are not mandatory:

  • Infrastructure Sustainability Accredited Professional (ISAP) with demonstrated experience in applying the Infrastructure Sustainability Rating tool
  • Green Star Accredited Professional (GSAP) with demonstrated experience in applying the Green Star Rating tool
  • Experience using modelling software such as IES and/or Design Builder
