About The Role

Finance Manager - Reporting & Insights

A 6 month opportunity to lead the Reporting & Insights team, serving as a key partner to our merchandise operations and merchandise brand teams. Your primary goal is to translate data into actionable insights and commercial analysis that drive strategic decisions and support the growth of BWS and Dan Murphy's. You'll build strong relationships with leaders across Merchandise Operations, Pricing, Transformation and Range & Space, using data to inform and enhance our business strategies.

You will provide leadership, coaching, and mentorship to two direct reports and the broader Endeavour finance and commercial teams. Your role involves ensuring that your direct reports are integrated within the brand trading teams, and that daily trading decisions are communicated effectively across the wider merchandise finance team. You will also collaborate closely with finance peers across all brands and group finance teams to implement best practices and maintain consistent reporting and processes.

Here is a taster of what you can expect in this role:

• Own and manage the weekly and monthly performance insights across the merchandise team for the key retail brands (BWS & Dan Murphy's)
• Proactively deliver insightful analysis and commercial recommendations to the business on sales and margin
• Streamline reporting and processes to improve efficiency and consistency.
• Build a strong performance narrative, highlight missed opportunities, and drive accountability with the category trading teams on key transformation and strategic initiatives
• Setup tracking and provide insightful analysis and commercial recommendations on our new retail pricing strategy
• Enhance supplier P&L reporting, understand new requirements and optimising best practice across the different categories (Beer, Wine, Spirits)
• Establish clear metrics for evaluating the success of space projects, range reviews and category trials
• Regular reviews of cost and margin impacts to ensure benefits are being realised in the P&L
• Partner with the GM of Merchandise Operations and Heads Of Pricing, Transformation and Range & Space
• Develop a robust framework for analysing key merchandise strategies (Pricing, Costs, Range) and their long term implications
• Proactively challenge assumptions, drive change and influence decision making, which ultimately focus on holistic outcomes for Endeavour Retail
• Ensure performance drivers are transparent and understood by Finance, Merchandise Operations and the wider Merchandise Trading teams
  
  

What do we need from you

• Minimum of 8+ years relevant experience with CA/CPA Qualification
• Strong presentation and storyboarding skills
• Able to communicate complex financial information simplistically
• Ability to navigate through a complex organisational structure and work effectively cross functionally
• Advanced time management and prioritisation skills
• Ability to prioritise team efforts to support business requirements
• Strong leadership, coaching, mentoring and development skills
• Advanced analytical and problem solving skills
• Advanced experience using financial systems in a commercial environment e.g. Excel, Powerpoint, Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
• Desire for ongoing continuous improvement and process excellence
• Retail or FMCG experience desirable
