The summer pool season is approaching, and we are now accepting expressions of interest for Pool Lifeguard positions at our pool facilities. Operating at several centres and locations across the state, we're offering seasonal work opportunities for both new and experienced Pool Lifeguards

About the Job

As a Lifeguard with Victoria YMCA, you'll help provide a safe swimming environment for all visitors. Your duties will include:

  • Supervising a large aquatic space while proactively ensuring a safe environment in and around the pool area
  • Maintaining focused observation of pools and patrons to anticipate and respond to problems
  • Ensuring facility rules are followed, while educating users about safe aquatic practices
  • Carrying out intervention and preventative actions to ensure safety and wellbeing of patrons, the facility, and equipment

This is a casual position with an hourly rate up to $33.37 plus Superannuation and Y Benefits.

About You

We are seeking motivated and friendly Pool Lifeguards to join our team. You will be patient, focused, and proactive in keeping pool users informed and safe. The ideal candidate will have strong interpersonal skills, a positive attitude, and a commitment to community safety and wellbeing.

Qualifications

  • Aquatic Pool Lifeguard Certificate (or willingness to obtain)
  • HLTAID009 Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation
  • HLTAID011 Provide First Aid
