Software Engineer Position

We are seeking an experienced Principal Software Engineer to lead the design, development, and implementation of complex software solutions using Microsoft .NET technologies.

The successful candidate will oversee software development projects, write optimized code, and provide technical leadership to a team of software engineers. They will be responsible for ensuring adherence to best practices and delivering secure and scalable applications that meet government standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Application Architecture: Design and implement end-to-end solutions using the Microsoft technology stack, including identity, web/desktop applications, web services, and batch jobs.
  • Security: Ensure applications comply with OWASP best practices, ACSC Essential Eight, and IRAP security standards, as well as design and implement secure authentication & authorization solutions using Azure AD, Entra ID, AD FS, and OAuth2/OpenID Connect/SAML.
  • Technical Guidance: Provide guidance to engineering teams, mentoring developers on Identity best practices in .NET and Microsoft platforms.
  • Test Automation: Define and implement test automation frameworks using BDD principles, ensuring scalable and maintainable automation through Cucumber, Selenium, and API testing tools.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with developers, testers, and business analysts to refine acceptance criteria, write Gherkin-based test scenarios, and integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines.
Requirements
  • Cloud & DevOps: Experience with Microsoft Azure, CI/CD with Azure DevOps.
  • Security & Compliance: Familiarity with ACSC Essential Eight, OWASP.
  • Frontend & Accessibility: Knowledge of WCAG 2.1 compliance, DTA Digital Service Standard.
  • Education: Degree in Computer Science or Software Engineering.

This is a contract position, and the ideal candidate will have mid-senior level experience in software engineering, with a strong understanding of Microsoft .NET technologies and cloud-based systems.
