About the role:

The Specialist Family Violence Practitioner provides specialist family violence support and holistic case management to women and children escaping family violence predominantly within crisis, and refuge settings.

This is a Permanent Full Time (38 hours per week) opportunity based in the Western Suburbs within our Community Services program. The position reports to the Team Leader, Family Violence (Refuge).

Key Selection Criteria:

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Demonstrated experience supporting women and children facing a range of complex challenges in relation to family violence, homelessness, health and mental health, drug and alcohol use, trauma, and marginalisation.
  • Understanding of the principles of feminism, intersectionality and anti-oppression as both practice and organisational culture foundations.
  • Understanding of critical issues relevant to responding to family violence including an understanding of the MARAM framework, Family Violence Protection ACT (2008), and Child Safe Standards.
  • The ability to apply a flexible, inclusive, non-judgmental, and empowering approach to practice and service delivery.

  • Satisfactory Criminal History Check (paid for by MacKillop);
