Responsibilities

In this role, you will contribute to the teaching, research and service activities of the School. This includes:

• Developing and delivering foundation and profession-focused units.
• Engaging in quality research and scholarly activity.
• Supporting students across undergraduate, honours and postgraduate levels.
• Taking on leadership in curriculum development, course coordination, research projects or supervision responsibilities, depending on experience.

Qualifications and Requirements

The ideal candidate will bring enthusiasm for innovative teaching, a collaborative approach to research and scholarship, and the ability to build strong connections with students, colleagues, industry and community partners.

• Completion of a postgraduate qualification or equivalent in Geography, Environmental Science or a closely related discipline (Lecturer).
  
• Teaching qualification or willingness to complete a Graduate Certificate in Tertiary Teaching / Education (Lecturer).
• Experience teaching and supervising undergraduate and postgraduate students, using multi-modal delivery strategies.
• Proven research record with recent publications and ability to contribute to the School's research program.

Position Levels and Remuneration

Lecturer (Level B): Total remuneration $134,885 to $157,870 per annum (including salary of $113,980 to $133,403 plus 17% superannuation and leave loading).

Senior Lecturer (Level C): Total remuneration $162,470 to $184,987 per annum (including salary of $137,290 to $156,317 plus 17% superannuation and leave loading).

Position Requirements

Lecturer:

Senior Lecturer – Additional Requirements:

• Possession of a PhD in Geography, Environmental Science or a closely related discipline.
• Experience in team leadership and mentoring junior academic staff.
• Ability to develop engaging teaching materials and effectively collaborate with industry and community partners.
