Reporting to the Construction Manager and Construction Superintendent, this role supports the day-to-day construction activities at our McPhee Creek and Marble Bar Road projects. It manages safe systems of work and is heavily involved in delivery and execution strategies for the permanent and construction contractor workforce. The role ensures the achievement of HanRoy health and safety targets and manages our contractor workforce in line with these goals.

Key Duties:

  1. Ensure compliance with government health and safety obligations.
  2. Prepare contractors for site mobilisation with suitable systems and processes across multiple work fronts.
  3. Lead investigations, support risk assessments, and drive positive safety outcomes.
  4. Champion safety initiatives by attending relevant meetings and promoting safety culture.
  5. Collaborate with the project team to ensure effective safety training and policy implementation.
  6. Advise leadership on health and safety issues affecting performance.
  7. Assist in developing Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs) and operating procedures.
  8. Verify contractor documentation in line with HanRoy management systems.
  9. Implement corporate and site-specific health and safety initiatives.
  10. Support incident investigations and evidence gathering.
  11. Maintain incident data and produce statistical reports with analysis.
  12. Promote health and safety awareness among operational teams and supervisors.
  13. Support the HanRoy Health and Safety Team across the business.

Reporting:

  1. Present audit findings to management and other stakeholders.
  2. Prepare investigation reports for leadership and external parties.
  3. Communicate H&S issues and industry developments affecting operations.
  4. Maintain H&S documentation for regulatory compliance.
  5. Participate in H&S research and program studies.
  6. Monitor management systems to ensure alignment with HanRoy standards and policies.

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. Cert IV or Diploma of Work Health and Safety, or ongoing undergraduate/postgraduate studies in occupational health, safety, or risk management, or an Advanced Diploma of Work Health and Safety, Bachelor's Degree, or Graduate Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety.
  2. Nationally recognized driver's license (C Class).
  3. Ability to work 12/9 FIFO from Perth for up to 10 months.
  4. Current Driver's License.
