Overview

Senior Data Developer — Sydney. We are seeking a candidate with strong skills in AWS serverless computing, data processing, and automation. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with AWS Lambda, Amazon Athena, and Python, and a proven ability to design, develop, and maintain robust data solutions in a cloud-based environment.

Responsibilities
  • Design, build, and maintain data pipelines and processing workflows using AWS Lambda and related AWS services.
  • Query and process large datasets using Amazon Athena and optimise for performance and cost efficiency.
  • Develop automation scripts and data transformation logic using Python.
  • Integrate data from multiple sources and ensure data quality, security, and compliance.
  • Collaborate with data engineers, analysts, and business stakeholders to deliver data-driven solutions.
  • Implement monitoring and alerting for data workflows to ensure reliability.
  • Contribute to best practices for data architecture, coding standards, and documentation.
Qualifications
  • Proven experience as a Data Developer, Data Engineer, or similar role.
  • Strong hands-on expertise with AWS Lambda and Amazon Athena.
  • Proficiency in Python for automation, ETL, and data processing tasks.
  • Experience with AWS services such as S3, Glue, CloudWatch, and IAM.
  • Familiarity with SQL and data modelling concepts.
  • Understanding of cloud security and compliance best practices.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in Agile environments.
Desirable
  • AWS certification (e.g., AWS Certified Data Analytics – Specialty or AWS Certified Developer – Associate).
  • Experience with big data frameworks or analytics platforms.
  • Exposure to real-time data streaming (e.g., Kinesis).
