Melbourne, Victoria, Australia Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre Full time
Professor/Director - Clinical Haematology, Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre

Professor/Director - Clinical Haematology

This is a rare and career-defining opportunity for a visionary leader in haematology to shape and lead a world-class, research-driven clinical service across two of Australia's premier health institutions, Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre and The Royal Melbourne Hospital.

As Professor/Director - Clinical Haematology, you will lead the integration of services across both institutions. This includes overseeing cutting-edge therapies such as CAR T-cell treatments, allogeneic bone marrow transplants, and an extensive clinical trials portfolio. You will drive clinical governance, clinical research, knowledge translation, workforce strategy, and continuous quality improvement in alignment with the Parkville Precinct's vision of world-class, research-led cancer care.

About the Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre

Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre (Peter Mac) is a world leading cancer research, education and treatment centre and Australia's only public health service dedicated to caring for people affected by cancer. We have 4,200 employees, including more than 700 laboratory and clinical researchers, all focused on providing better treatments, better care and potential cures for cancer.

At Peter Mac we aim to continuously improve cancer care, research and education across all cancers and for all people affected by cancer: changing lives, breaking new ground. Everything we do is underpinned by our core values, Excellence, Compassion and Innovation.

About the Royal Melbourne Hospital

The Royal Melbourne Hospital (RMH) is one of Victoria's largest public health services, employing approximately 11,000 staff and managing over 1,400 beds. We provide comprehensive acute, sub‑acute, general, specialist medical and mental health services through both inpatient and community-based facilities through the RMH City Campus, RMH Royal Park Campus and The Doherty Institute for Infection and Immunity. We provide one of the two adult major trauma services to the state of Victoria.

Our reputation for caring for all Melburnians is as essential to who we are as any scientific breakthrough we make. We're here when it matters most, and we'll continue to be the first to speak out for our diverse community's wellbeing.

Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre and the Royal Melbourne Hospital form part of the largest biomedical precinct in Australia, the "Parkville Precinct".

Located at the northern edge of Melbourne's central business district (CBD), Parkville is renowned for its biomedical and research capabilities, blending hospitals, global biomedical industry leaders, research institutions and universities.

The Victorian Government's Innovation Statement provides the policy direction for innovation, supporting Parkville's continued growth and investment in identified sectors. Parkville has a significant role to play in making the lives of Victorians better - with innovations in health and life science, and digital technology.
