  About The Role
  
  Western Health is currently seeking applications for the 2026 Graduate Midwife Program at both the Joan Kirner Women's & Children's and Bacchus Marsh campuses. (Campus name) is highly regarded for facilitating a smooth and supportive transition for Graduate Midwives from student to Registered Midwife.
  
  This advert is for those applying for Graduate Midwifery Program or MGP Graduate Program in 2026. The Graduate Midwife Program, in its first year, offers early career support, rotating across the continuum of pregnancy care. Graduates have the opportunity to participate in the Grad + Program in their 2nd year, undertaking two theoretical postgraduate equivalent subjects and options for additional rotations.
  
  This program is offered at 64hrs per fortnight (0.84FTE).
  
  Four intakes are offered in 2026: February, April, July and September.

  This program will be supportedby Clinical Midwifery Educators and Clinical Support Midwives.
  
  Key Responsibilities
  • Assess and document clinical, non clinical and social needs, identifying at risk patients implementing risk minimisation strategies
  • Recognise and respond to changes in patient conditions, escalate care when necessary and document variations accordingly
  • Maintain accurate, legible and legally compliant documentation per Western Health policies
  • Communicate patient status effectively during handovers
  • Advocate for patients and families with support
  • Deliver safe, high quality evidence based care
    
    
  Essential Criteria
  
  Completion of an Undergraduate Midwifery or Undergraduate Double Degree in Midwifery & Nursing in 2025.
