    About The Role

    The City of Ballarat is seeking to appoint a Civic Support Officer to support the running of services and facilities in the Ballarat Town Hall.

    As a Civic Support Officer you will provide an exceptional standard of hospitality and customer service to staff, Councillors, customers, and community members using the Ballarat Town Hall. You will contribute to the creation of a positive public image of the City of Ballarat by providing a welcoming and well organised atmosphere and a high level of presentation to customers, visitors and guests.

    Your Duties Will Include
    • Provide the City of Ballarat's customers with an efficient, friendly, high-quality service.
    • To effectively and efficiently manage the bookings of City of Ballarat's Town Hall Conference/Meeting facilities and equipment.
    • To contribute to the creation of a positive public image of the City of Ballarat by providing a welcoming atmosphere to customers, visitors and guests within City of Ballarat facilities.
    • To support the Coordinator Town Hall Operations' Annual Plan Outcomes.
    • To have the ability, if and when required, to be able to step into the Coordinator Town Hall Operations' role in their absence under the supervision of Head of Executive and Civic Services.
    • Promotion of the Town Hall and its history through building tours and maintenance of Town Hall information brochures.
    • Meet and direct guests to appropriate rooms.
    • Monitor the behaviour of Town Hall visitors and guests.
    • Complete necessary Emergency Management Training and participate in Emergency Management and responsibilities as required.

    Selection Criteria
    • Qualifications and experience as listed as listed in the position description.
    • Demonstrated ability to champion, model and promote the core values.
    • Demonstrated experience in the principles and practice of customer service.
    • Experience in a wide range of software applications including a variety of Windows based applications, databases and spreadsheets.
    • Previous experience in developing and/or updating office information policies and procedures.
    • Excellent time management skills, ability to meet deadlines and attention to detail.
    • Knowledge and understanding of health and safety issues relevant to work activities and work area
