We are currently recruiting for an Educational Leader to join our team at YMCA Yandina Outside School Hours Care on a Permanent Part-Time basis.

As the Educational Leader, you will lead the development and implementation of the education program by promoting children's well-being, development and learning by helping the children develop values, attitudes and ways of living and learning. This will be achieved by providing a high quality of care, activities and educational elements to those in the program, managing and promoting a team environment and working within the YMCA of Brisbane Long Day Care services' philosophy, policies and procedures.

• Lead the development and implementation of the educational program and assessment with the support of Assistant Coordinator/Coordinator
• Ensure children's learning and development informs the design of the educational program, and Educators facilitate and extend each child's learning and development
• Liaise effectively with parents, staff and all internal and external stakeholders
• Make recommendations for improvements to educators' educational programs and practices
• Mentor and support educators understanding of the educational program and practice including how to reflect on the effectiveness of their programs, interactions, intentional teaching and other strategies
• Ensure compliance with policy
• Undertake administrative requirements
• Work collaboratively with families and the school community

• Hold a Diploma in Children's Services or equivalent and demonstrated experience in Early Childhood Education
• Have had sound experience in an Early Childhood Education and Care setting
• Possess a comprehensive working knowledge of the approved learning framework
• Demonstrated ability to coach and mentor others
• Demonstrated excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Have a comprehensive working knowledge of child development, attachment, learning
• A demonstrated understanding of evidence-based best practice approaches to teaching and learning
• Working knowledge of leadership theory and the use of a range of leadership styles
• Well-developed critical thinking skills, including the ability to analyse and challenge conventional practice and ideas
• Current First Aid and CPR Certification
• Currently possess, or be willing to obtain, Blue Card
