This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced, enthusiastic and motivated occupational therapist to be temporarily appointed to our Level 3 Lymphoedema OT role. You will have the opportunity to contribute and apply your clinical expertise in the management of lymphoedema patients of St George Hospital. This includes the delivery of an early intervention and prevention of lymphoedema model of care, and the management of chronic lower limb, upper limb, head/neck and complex lymphoedema patients.

We have a strong focus on clinical and leadership skill development, and strive to provide consistent high quality occupational therapy services across the campus. Our department consists of 34 occupational therapists and support staff, and we work across a variety of inpatient, outpatient and community services. Clinically we provide services to aged care, acute surgical and medical, trauma, neurological, rehabilitation, palliative care, lymphoedema and hands patients. We coordinate a robust student program and provide a variety of professional development opportunities. We support flexible work practices, protected time for non clinical tasks (quality improvement, continuing professional education, and leadership development) and enjoy a positive and supportive workplace culture.

As a Level 3 Occupational Therapist you will plan, coordinate, and implement in-depth levels of clinical expertise and extensive specialised knowledge within Occupational Therapy in order to provide high quality occupational therapy care to patients consistent with NSW Health and SESLHD policies, procedures and standards.

Selection Criteria

Qualifications in accordance with Schedule C of the NSW Health Service Health Professionals (State) Award and Current Registration with AHPRA.Extensive post graduate clinical experience in lymphoedema service provision from an occupational therapy perspective.Excellent negotiation, decision making and advocacy skills including the ability to interact constructively and collaboratively with a diverse range of stakeholders, throughout all organisational levels.Ability to provide in-depth advice and education to enhance service delivery and to guide and support others in providing service excellence, with the capacity to provide clinical supervision to other staff.Ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team and to apply advanced reasoning skills and independent professional judgement when dealing with situations of a novel, complex or critical nature.Ability to initiate, lead, complete and share quality improvement initiatives and service evaluation processes and lead ongoing quality improvement activities with other staff.Demonstrated commitment to ongoing clinical and professional learning.Current Class C Drivers Licence.
