Senior Policy & Project Officer, Park Strategic Projects

Salary range from $98,478 to $104,165 per year

National Parks and other protected areas cover a vast area of South Australia and their management requires consideration of a suite of complementary and conflicting land uses and community expectations together with legal and policy challenges. There is an exciting opportunity for a Senior Policy and Project Officer, Park Strategic Projects in the Park Planning and Visitor Experience, Protected Area Policy Unit.

The role provides project coordination and high level policy advice to support statewide protected area policy commitments. The role is responsible for effective research, analysis and implementation of policy and legislation and undertaking community engagement to support protected area management across the State. The role also provides executive support for high level governance groups including the Parks and Wilderness Council and other government steering committees.

Contract:
Ongoing contract.

Special Conditions:

Will be required to participate in responses to state emergencies or associated duties.

Some out of hours work may be required.

A current class "c" driver's licence and willingness and ability to safely operate a 4wd is essential.

Intrastate and remote area travel is required, including travel in light aircraft and overnight absences.

You must be an Australian citizen, permanent resident, or provide evidence that you hold a valid working visa that allows you to work in Australia without restrictions.

Prior to being employed, the successful applicant will be required to obtain a National Police Check.

Remuneration:
ASO6 $98,478 min - $104,165 max p.a.
