Overview

Job Opportunity: EL1 Test Lead (12-Month Contract)

We are seeking a passionate and experienced EL1 Test Lead to join a major digital transformation program within a Federal Government agency. This role will support the delivery of innovative ICT solutions that improve services for Australians with disabilities.

Location: WA, ACT, NT, TAS

Working Arrangements: Hybrid (Minimum 3 days in-office per week, flexible for remaining 2 days)

Estimated Start Date: Monday, 20 October 2025

Contract Duration: 12 months (with potential 12-month extension)

Security Clearance: Baseline

Citizenship Requirement: Australian citizens only

Status: Open to applicants

Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage test delivery across multiple projects, ensuring alignment with scope, schedule, cost, and quality targets.
  • Develop test plans, test cases, and supporting data from specifications.
  • Assign and manage execution of test cases across various testing stages.
  • Analyze and report on test activities and escalate risks or issues.
  • Manage defect triages and coordinate with business teams during UAT.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure timely and effective project implementation.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives including test automation and process enhancements.
  • Maintain accurate records of time and effort for test activities.
Essential Criteria
  • Proven experience leading testing activities for complex programs and producing Test Summary reports.
  • Agile testing experience with accountability for sprint commitments and delivery.
  • Extensive experience with test management tools including Jira Xray and Salesforce CRM.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to manage multiple project factors.
  • Excellent teamwork skills across business units, vendors, and virtual teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to foster innovation and build strong working relationships.
Desirable Criteria
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience working in large organisations on complex software deployments.
  • Background in related technical fields such as application or database development.
  • Enthusiasm for accessible design and development practices.
