Responsibilities
  • As a Staff Software Engineer, you will be part of a squad within the Payments Channel and Reporting crew building a new banking experience. You will be working with engineers on uplifting business capabilities and modernising our tech stack.
  • You will be hands-on coding and responsible for shaping the evolution of this system by designing and developing microservices, data access layers, REST APIs, and writing integration services for third-party API consumption.
  • Manage risk with safe deployments and automated testing, as well as learning more about back-end engineering.
  • You will be invited to join regular engineering guilds and provide technical guidance to junior team members.
  • Technical leadership: set engineering standards, provide architectural guidance, drive solution design, and mentor both senior and junior engineers.
  • Stay at the forefront of emerging technologies, from cloud platforms to Gen AI and Machine Learning, and inspire the team to experiment and adopt tools that keep us ahead of industry standards.
  • Take ownership of outcomes to ensure systems perform reliably and issues are resolved quickly and thoroughly.
What we expect from you / Qualifications
  • Technical Authority – Act as the go-to expert for technical solutions, guide the team through challenges, perform rigorous code reviews, and contribute to robust architectural decisions.
  • Hands-on Leadership – Lead by example with high-quality code contributions and a strong focus on delivering scalable, secure, and efficient solutions.
  • Mentorship & Collaboration – Mentor engineers, facilitate knowledge sharing, and foster collaboration.
  • DevSecOps Mindset – Promote security, automation, and continuous delivery, identifying risks early and ensuring secure deployments.
  • Problem Solver – Tackle complexity and ambiguity to drive technical excellence.
  • Innovation Leader – Stay updated on technologies from cloud platforms to Gen AI/ML and drive adoption.
  • Accountability – Own outcomes and ensure reliability of systems.
  • Technical Skills: Backend with .NET Framework, .NET Core (must have), C# (must have); Node.js, JavaScript, REST APIs, microservices; Frontend with Next.js/React, Redux; SQL (MSSQL, Oracle, Aurora) and NoSQL; GitHub, Jira, Confluence; CI/CD tools; Event-driven experience with Kafka/IBM MQ; AWS services (Lambda, S3, CloudWatch, IAM, Serverless, Step Functions); Security, monitoring (Splunk/Observe, Grafana, Prometheus, AppDynamics); and related tools.
