About the role

You will be providing technical support for a range of specialised electronic equipment, and equipment application requirements. The role is highly adaptable depending on the specific projects and opportunities as they arise and will also include assisting with pre-sales. This is primarily an onsite role based at our Oakleigh office.

Specific Tasks and Responsibilities

Provide customer and team technical support for a range of specialised electronic equipment, and application requirements.

Understanding the SDA Products Portfolio and their application across domains (e.g. Telecoms, Power and Renewables etc).

Provide guidance, technical assistance and assurance of product solutions and equipment including Pre – Delivery quality assurance and Post-Delivery support.

Provide technical input to the Sales team in response to customer requirements and applications.

Maintain the technology product portfolio and technical documentation including product features, software/ firmware updates/versions and roadmaps.

Assist with management of Customer support contracts and other support requests (e.g. non contract repairs/replacements) including changes in the product portfolio.

Key Requirements

Knowledge of synchronisation, time and frequency including NTP/PTP

Broad understanding of test equipment and measurement devices.

Experience in Network Design, Security and Architecture in telecoms, power, defence or related sector

Knowledge of power systems/electronics and emerging energy trends – renewables, grid integration

Ability to prioritise and manage workload with excellent attention to detail

Ability to communicate effectively across the team.

Experience in supporting and implementing network and telecommunication systems

Ability to analyse and solve technical problems

Awareness of industry standards and compliance requirements and emerging technologies in the electronics field

A self-motivated person with a willingness to take the initiative and is committed to producing high-quality solutions and outcomes for customers.

Understanding of emerging telecommunication industry standards and technologies (e.g. 5G, PTP)

Highly developed understanding of MS-Office systems including Windows, Cloud services ( MS-Azure), virtual IP telephony and backup solutions.

Understanding of network security and authentication hardening

Qualifications

5+ years industry experience in a similar environment

Relevant technical qualification: , i.e. Telco level 2/3 support experience and/or Certificate III or IV in a related technology or;

Bachelor's degree in electronic engineering or related field
