Overview

Senior Solutions Architect - Public Sector, Public Sector - Federal & NSD Team at AWS. AWS Sales, Marketing, and Global Services (SMGS) is responsible for driving revenue, adoption, and growth from the largest and fastest growing small- and mid-market accounts to enterprise-level customers including public sector. The Solutions Architect team at AWS is responsible for helping customers successfully implement cloud technologies. Partnering with internal teams and leveraging a deep knowledge of our tools and products, you'll craft highly-scalable, flexible, and resilient cloud architectures that address our customers' business problems. As part of our team, you'll have the opportunity to innovate daily and define the future of cloud computing. The role supports the Australian Government community and Public Sector customers in the Australian Government, National Security and Defence. You'll own the on-going technical relationship with customers in this space and help shape and deliver strategy to build mind share and broad use of AWS cloud services within strategic accounts.

Key responsibilities

• As a Senior Solutions Architect, help customers plan their successful cloud journey and solve complex, technical challenges to enable business focus.
• Craft scalable, flexible, and resilient cloud architectures; drive technical solution discussions and dive deep with customer teams.
• Build relationships to understand customers and partners; act as a trusted technical advisor to influence stakeholders from technical teams to executives; align short-term technology decisions with long-term goals; accelerate adoption of AWS services.
• Act as a thought leader in the wider community by educating, sharing best practices, presenting at events, writing white papers/blogs, and running workshops.
• Shape product and service direction by gathering customer feedback and collaborating with engineering and service teams.
• Own the technical engagement and success around specific implementation projects; develop deep AWS knowledge and broad knowledge of application/service construction on AWS.

What you'll do daily

• Plan and guide customers through their cloud journey; resolve complex technical challenges; craft scalable architectures.
• Lead technical solution discussions with customer teams; communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Engage with executives and technical staff to ensure alignment of technology with business goals.
• Educate and share best practices; present at events; contribute to thought leadership in the AWS community.
• Gather customer feedback to influence product direction and work with engineering teams to implement improvements.

QualificationsBasic Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in technology domains (e.g., software development, cloud computing, systems engineering, infrastructure, security, networking, data & analytics).
• 7+ years of infrastructure architecture, database architecture, and networking experience.
• Ability to lead complex technical projects, coordinating with multiple teams as needed.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience communicating across technical and non-technical audiences, including executives or clients.
• Experience architecting or deploying Cloud/Virtualization solutions in enterprise customers.
• Ability to create proofs of concept, demos, and/or scripts from scratch or using reusable components.
• Experience working with Federal government.
• Ability to present to technical and business audiences (training, workshops, publications).

Security and Compliance

Candidates must Hold or be able to attain an Australian Government Security Vetting Agency clearance.

Note: This role involves working with highly sensitive, time-critical public sector environments.

About The Team

This role is within the Public Sector Solutions Architecture team, working with public sector customers in the Australian Government, National Security and Defence. You will help shape and deliver a strategy to build mind share and broad use of AWS services within critical strategic accounts.
