We are seeking to establish a pool of Senior Gardeners – Handyperson for permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2025 school year. Appointments may be offered at any time for vacancies that commence during this period.

As the Senior Gardener – Handyperson, the successful applicant is expected to maintain our school grounds and ensure that they are well presented. Successful applicants should work to provide gardening, ground and facility management to ensure a safe, vibrant, and clean school environment. They should also perform minor repairs and maintenance as requested, as well as other Gardener – Handyperson duties using safe work practices and in accordance with the Department's policies and guidelines. We are seeking someone with good interpersonal and communication skills who can work as part of a team as well as independently.

Minimum Requirements:

• Obtain a valid Working With Children Check.
• Consent to a National Criminal History Check with the Department's Screening Unit.
• Be an Australian or New Zealand citizen, permanent resident, or have a valid visa with relevant work rights for the term of the appointment.

Detail in two (2) pages how your skills and experiences relate to these selection criteria:

• Demonstrated good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Demonstrated experience in maintaining grounds and gardens, including turf management.
• Demonstrated experience in servicing horticultural/gardening equipment and performing minor repairs and maintenance tasks.
• Demonstrated knowledge of gardening methods and procedures, including the safe use and storage of gardening equipment, materials, and chemicals.
• Demonstrated experience in coordinating and supervising staff.
