  • Review & Quality Control
  • Review and sign off on compliance work prepared by junior and intermediate accountants
  • Oversee the preparation and lodgement of BAS, IAS, and payroll obligations
  • Ensure all work is accurate, error-free, and professionally presented, in line with HTA systems and procedures
  • Perform and review complex reconciliations, management reports, and financial analysis
  • Workflow & Team Leadership
  • Plan and manage workflow, job scheduling, and budgets for your client group
  • Assist with capacity planning, ensuring the right work is matched to the right team members
  • Take full ownership of the jobs delegated to you, ensuring deadlines and expectations are met
  • Support and mentor team members by providing regular feedback, training, and development opportunities
  • Leadership & Professional Growth
  • Embody and promote HTA's values across your team and client interactions
  • Take an active role in managing performance and supporting your team's professional goals
  • Stay up to date with legislation, compliance updates, and industry best practices
  • Contribute to business improvement projects, innovation, and internal leadership initiatives

What You'll Bring

  • CA or CPA qualified
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in public practice accounting
  • Strong technical knowledge of tax legislation, business structures, and compliance requirements
  • Experience in leading a team and reviewing work to a high standard
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Confidence to provide advice based on sound knowledge and judgement
  • Proficiency in Xero (including payroll and reporting), with strong Excel and Office suite skills
  • Commitment to mentoring others and continuous learning—both for yourself and your team
  • High ethical standards, reliability, and a genuine passion for helping businesses succeed
