About The Role:
The Opportunity:
Tasman Power is seeking an experienced Payroll Officer to join our dynamic team located in Jandakot. Reporting to the Payroll Manager, you will be responsible for managing the end-to-end payroll processes and related administration to ensure smooth and efficient payroll operations.

To be successful as our new Payroll Officer, you will have 3-5 years in a payroll position within a similar industry.

Key Responsibilities Include But Not Limited To:

  • Coordinate and process weekly payroll, ensuring full compliance with statutory requirements.
  • Maintain accurate payroll data on HR3, prepare reports, and process salary adjustments, leave, and terminations.
  • Manage deductions, job costing allocations, superannuation, Payroll Tax, and Construction LSL.
  • Facilitate salary transfers, reconcile PAYG Payment Summaries, and ensure timely submission to the ATO.
  • Advise on payroll procedures, compliance, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Resolve payroll issues, maintain accurate records, and liaise with management, employees, and HR/Finance teams.

The Successful Applicant Will Have:

  • 3 – 5 years' experience in a payroll position within a similar industry (preferably mining).
  • Strong knowledge of award and enterprise agreement interpretation.
  • In-depth understanding of payroll systems, procedures, statutory requirements, and accounting standards.
  • Experience with payroll software (HR3 preferred).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Knowledge of superannuation and workers' compensation legislation.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organisation and time-management skills, with the ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
