The role also includes working closely with internal and external stakeholders, including auditors, investors, vendors, and the executive team.

Deliver accurate budget forecasts and variance analysis.
Identify key trends, risks, and opportunities in financial performance.
Own the preparation of detailed board-level reports on financials, sales performance, and operational KPIs.
  3. SaaS-Specific Financial Management
Collaborate with sales and customer success teams to improve revenue recognition processes and align financial reporting with SaaS business models.
Track and report key SaaS metrics (e.g., MRR, ARR, CAC, LTV, churn rate) and ensure data integrity across finance systems.
Provide support and financial modelling for capital raising, investor presentations, and due diligence activities.
  4. Compliance & Audit
Ensure full compliance with regulatory and statutory requirements, including ATO and ASIC obligations.
Manage and coordinate year-end audits, liaising with external auditors and consultants as needed.
Oversee and maintain all company taxation, BAS, and statutory filings.
  5. Strategic Support & Leadership
Provide strategic advice to the CEO and leadership team on financial planning, risk mitigation, and business growth initiatives.
Support funding strategy and grant applications.
Lead and mentor finance staff or outsourced accounting providers as needed.
Represent finance in cross-functional initiatives and business improvement projects.

Required Qualifications & Experience

  1. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA/CA qualification required).
  2. Minimum 5+ years' experience in a similar senior finance role, ideally within a high-growth SaaS, tech, or digital business.
  3. Demonstrated expertise in MYOB, Xero, or other accounting/ERP systems.
  4. Strong understanding of SaaS business models and associated revenue recognition practices.
  5. Experience with board reporting, investor relations, and capital raising is highly desirable.
  6. Advanced analytical and financial modelling skills.
  7. Knowledge of Australian accounting standards and financial regulations.
  8. Ability to work both strategically and hands-on in a fast-paced, agile environment.
  9. Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills.
  10. Strategic thinking with attention to operational detail.

  12. Strong leadership and team collaboration skills.
  13. Excellent time management and multi-tasking capabilities.
