What you'll be doing:The Privacy Manager's role is to be a senior leader in the team that is responsible for implementing and maintaining the Virgin Australia Group's privacy compliance framework, assisting the Virgin Australia Group to manage privacy risk and embed privacy throughout its operations, and safeguard consumer trust.
This is a 12 month maximum term contract opportunity.
You'll be great in this role if you:- Have at least four years experience working in a team managing BAU privacy risk
- Have previously worked in a legal, compliance or risk role (inhouse or external)
- Are a natural at providing solutions focussed advice, which is both compliant and supports the achievement of strategic objectives
- Come with proven ability to manage multiple stakeholders as well as stakeholders at all levels of the organisation
- Have an in depth knowledge and understanding of the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) including the Australian Privacy Principles and how it applies to private sector entities, or ability and desire to develop this
- Understand risk management frameworks
- Have experience working with the airline or loyalty industries (desirable)
- Have experience interacting with the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner or other Australian regulators (desirable)
- Have experience with the European/UK General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) or other foreign privacy and data protection laws (desirable)
