Overview

Mercure Canberra is one of the city's first established hotels, combining old-world charm with modern comforts. The hotel is located moments from the CBD, as well as the National Convention Centre and Australian War Memorial. Our hotel offers a variety of Food & Beverage offerings including: breakfast in our Courtyard Restaurant, all-day dining in Olims Bar & Bistro, In-Room Dining and 3 Conference & Events Spaces, as well as Canberra's largest mobile meat smoker.

Job Description

We are looking for someone who has a friendly, customer-focused attitude with a passion to exceed guest expectations. This is a casual role, reporting to the Food & Beverage Manager and Assistant Managers.

Responsibilities
  • Assisting the Food & Beverage Department across all outlets including: Courtyard Restaurant, Olims Bar & Bistro, Bottle Shop, Room Service, Minibar and Conference & Events.
  • Providing efficient, friendly and professional service to all guests.
  • Greeting & welcoming guests, assisting with enquiries & restaurant bookings. Assisting guests with menu offerings & maximizing sales opportunities through product knowledge.
  • Set up & pack down of conference rooms
Qualifications
  • A friendly, self-motivated personality with the ability to work within a team.
  • A demonstrated understanding of industry-related technology systems
  • Current RSA & RCG certificate
