The role requires a sound knowledge of VPS procurement and contract management policy, systems, and processes to coordinate and support procurement activity within DEECA. The role will represent Agriculture Victoria as the Group Procurement Representative.

The role requires a detail focused person with strong communication skills who will provide leadership and advice on key government and procurement policies, audits, and compliance with DEECA/Whole of Victorian Government procurement policies and procedures.

The role is responsible for conducting sourcing activities, negotiating contracts, and managing supplier relationships in line with departmental policies. They are also responsible for monitoring and evaluating supplier performance, ensuring that suppliers comply with contractual obligations, and identifying opportunities for cost savings and process improvements. This also involves supporting Agriculture Victoria staff procurement queries and connecting them to the appropriate team to support their procurement work.

Specialist/Technical Expertise/Qualifications

  • Demonstrated experience in procurement, knowledge in development of government related contracts and policies operating within a government environment.
  • Demonstrated experience and knowledge in the application of government procurement policies and procedures.
  • Extensive background knowledge in all matters relating to procurement processes, contract management, with demonstrated ability to lead strategic procurement processes.

This is an ongoing position. The work location for this position is flexible within with hybrid work arrangements available.
