Senior Electrical Engineer, Building Services — Melbourne, Australia
WSP Australia is seeking a skilled and experienced Senior Electrical Engineer to join our Melbourne team. You will contribute to a range of projects across different sectors, lead small to medium design projects, manage costs and timelines, and develop strong client relationships. This role also supports the development of the Building Services team and contributes to strategic goals.
Key Responsibilities- Electrical design leadership on single and multi-disciplinary projects, including high rise residential towers, commercial and tertiary education, aviation, and healthcare.
- Lead small to medium-sized engineering design projects and support larger, more complex projects to ensure effective and efficient delivery.
- Maintain clear and consistent communication with external clients, authorities, internal colleagues and managers to ensure alignment and successful project outcomes.
- Deliver best practices to achieve optimal outcomes for clients, focusing on saving time and reducing costs without compromising quality.
- Build solid, long-term client relationships, identify new business development opportunities, and understand evolving client needs.
- Contribute to the development and growth of the Building Services business unit by supporting strategic goals and initiatives.
- Bachelor of Electrical Engineering
- Strong expertise in electrical building services engineering and design documentation
- 6 to 10+ years' industry experience on Australian building services projects, ideally in a consulting environment
- Proven ability to deliver multiple concurrent projects across varied scales and sectors (e.g., rail, resources, aviation)
- Strong client relationship management and project management skills
- Capacity to lead, train and mentor junior engineers
- Strong leadership, teamwork, interpersonal and verbal/written communication skills
- Working knowledge of relevant Standards and Codes (AS/NZS 3000, NCC, etc.)
- Understanding of BIM, NavisWorks and Revit MEP (advantageous)
- Ability to drive business development and identify new opportunities for growth
- Proactive approach to client service, team collaboration, and problem-solving
