In This Role

• Gain practical, hands-on experience while working towards a nationally recognised qualification, all while getting paid.

Apprenticeship Programs

• Bridge Construction and Maintenance Apprenticeship (note: this program does not lead to a carpentry qualification)
• Civil Construction Apprenticeship

No previous experience is required. You'll receive comprehensive training, earn while you learn, and develop in-demand skills through real hands-on experience within a NSW government agency. Based in Waratah, February 2026 intake.

About You

• You are an Australian or New Zealand citizen, or an Australian permanent resident
• You have completed Year 10 or hold a RoSA or equivalent
• You are ready to commence full-time employment in February 2026
• You hold, or are in the process of obtaining, a C Class driver licence
• You have access to reliable transport to travel to the office or depot
• You are comfortable working at heights, in confined spaces, or near live traffic as required
• You are willing to travel as part of your role
• You have basic computer literacy skills
• You demonstrate teamwork and maintain a positive, accountable approach
• You take pride in delivering your best across school, work, and personal life
• You proactively seek opportunities to learn, grow, and take on new challenges
• You manage your time effectively and stay organized to meet commitments

Rates of Pay

Rates of pay depend on age at commencement. The rates listed below are effective from 1 July 2024. Increases to apprentice pay rates from 1 July 2025 onwards will apply at the time of commencement.

• Bridge Construction and Maintenance Apprenticeship: 1st Year – $639.00; Adult – $1,243.40
• Civil Construction Apprenticeship: 1st Year – $640.85; Adult – $1,191.40
