We are seeking a skilled Linux System Administrator to join our IT infrastructure team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for installing, configuring, and maintaining Linux servers and related systems. This role requires strong problem-solving skills, knowledge of scripting and automation tools, and experience with network and security configurations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Install, configure, and maintain Linux servers (RHEL, CentOS, Ubuntu, etc.).

  • Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues across infrastructure.

  • Ensure system security through user access controls, firewalls, and patches.

  • Perform regular system backups and recovery procedures.

  • Automate routine tasks using shell scripting or configuration management tools (e.g., Ansible, Puppet).

  • Maintain system documentation and architecture diagrams.

  • Apply OS patches and upgrades on a regular basis and upgrade administrative tools and utilities.

  • Manage file systems, user accounts, and resource usage.

  • Coordinate with software developers, network engineers, and IT support teams.

  • Monitor system logs and identify potential issues with server performance or security.

  • Implement and manage virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, KVM).

  • Maintain high availability and performance of mission-critical services.

Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

  • Proven experience as a Linux System Administrator or similar role.

  • Strong knowledge of Linux operating systems and command-line tools.

  • Hands-on experience with scripting languages (Bash, Python, etc.).

  • Familiarity with configuration management tools (Ansible, Chef, Puppet).

  • Understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, NFS, FTP, SSH, and other network protocols.

  • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) is a plus.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Certifications like RHCSA / RHCE / CompTIA Linux+ / LPIC.

  • Experience with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).

  • Knowledge of ITIL processes and ticketing systems.
