Job Summary:

We are seeking multiple experienced and dedicated Property Lawyers to join our dynamic team in Sydney, Australia. In this role, you will play a key part in managing a diverse range of property transactions, including residential, commercial, and industrial matters. You will be responsible for overseeing the entire process from initial client consultation through to settlement, ensuring smooth and legally compliant transactions.

Your responsibilities will include providing expert legal advice on property-related matters, including contract negotiations, due diligence, and title searches. Additionally, you will coordinate and facilitate property settlements, liaising with clients, agents, financial institutions, and other stakeholders to ensure that all parties are aligned and the transaction proceeds smoothly and on time.

As a Property Lawyer, you will also handle complex legal issues such as advising clients on their rights and obligations under property laws, assisting with dispute resolution, and providing strategic solutions to overcome legal obstacles. You will ensure all property transactions comply with relevant legislation.

In this role, attention to detail, strong communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple files and deadlines are essential. You will interact directly with clients, providing updates and guidance throughout the transaction process, ensuring they are well-informed and confident in the services provided. The successful candidate will have the ability to maintain positive client relationships while delivering efficient and cost-effective legal services.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Handle all aspects of the conveyancing process, including property settlements, contract reviews, preparing legal documents, and advising clients on property transactions.
  • Provide clear and concise legal advice to clients on matters related to property law, including buying, selling, leasing, and property development.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate contracts for property transactions, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
  • Coordinate and facilitate property settlements, liaising with clients, agents, financial institutions, and other parties to ensure smooth and timely completion of transactions.
  • Ensure that all property transactions comply with relevant Australian legislation, including the Conveyancing Act and other applicable property laws.
  • Maintain strong client relationships, providing updates and advice throughout the transaction process, and addressing client inquiries promptly.
  • Manage client files, ensuring all documentation is accurate, complete, and filed in accordance with legal requirements and firm policies.
  • Assist clients with property-related disputes, including advising on negotiation strategies, mediation, and court proceedings when required.
Skills / Experience:
  • A current practising certificate as a Property Lawyer in Australia.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in conveyancing and/or property law, handling a variety of transactions, including residential, commercial, and development matters.
  • Ideal candidate will have experience in managing conveyancing matters across all Australian States.
  • In-depth knowledge of Australian property laws, including relevant state and federal regulations. Familiarity with the Conveyancing Act and related statutes across all states.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain complex legal concepts in simple terms to clients.
  • Exceptional attention to detail with a high degree of accuracy in all legal documentation and communication.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain client relationships, with a customer-first approach to service.
  • Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple files and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in conveyancing software and general office software (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite). Experience using Smokeball is a plus.
