About the facilityOur major sites include University Hospital Geelong in Geelong's CBD, the McKellar Centre precinct in North Geelong, Barwon Health North in Norlane, and residential aged care facilities spanning the region. Comprehensive mental health, community health and dental services are delivered through various programs across the Barwon South West Region, including Torquay and Colac.
About the roleThe role of the Community Palliative Care Nurse is to provide clinical palliative care nursing to people who have complex care needs because of a life limiting illness, with little or no prospect of cure, and for whom the primary treatment goal is quality of life. This care will be provided within an interdisciplinary team context, and in community settings. Clinical leadership, education and support will be provided to palliative care colleagues, and generalist staff who work with a palliative approach.
