  • Total Indicative Remuneration: MD-2 $430,672 - $597,154 p.a. (pro-rata)
  • Temporary Part-Time appointment available (working 33.75 hours per week, up to 28/5/2023), over a 7 day roster

Joining the team at Mount Gambier & District Health Service, the ED Consultant will oversee all aspects of safe, efficient, patient-centred medical care within the Emergency Department setting. The role includes providing clinical leadership within the wider hospital community, participating in policy formulation and implementation, and engaging in human resource management. Responsibilities include working with medical and nursing colleagues, applying contemporary ED care processes such as fast-tracking of patients, nurse-initiated strategies, and nurse practitioner-led clinics. The ED Consultant will also supervise junior clinical staff and attend relevant meetings and staff development/education sessions as required.

The hospital has approximately 96 public beds and is co-located with a 20-bed private hospital. It provides extensive services including general medicine, orthopaedics, ENT, ophthalmology, gynaecological surgery, obstetrics, emergency care, and a high dependency unit.
