Job Title: Machine Learning Engineer Lead - User Voice

Redefine how users experience design at Black-Innovation.

We're looking for a skilled Machine Learning Engineer Lead to join our team and help us drive innovation in user support systems.

About the Role:

This is an exciting opportunity to lead the development of machine learning solutions that empower users worldwide. You will be responsible for defining and executing the ML roadmap for our User Voice supergroup, building production-ready NLP models, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to align on strategic goals.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Defining and Leading the ML Roadmap: Develop and execute a comprehensive ML strategy for User Voice, ensuring seamless integration with existing systems and processes.
  • Building NLP Models: Design, train, and deploy high-quality NLP models using techniques such as Agentic AI and LLMs to power user-facing support tools.
  • Pipeline Development: Create end-to-end ML pipelines for large-scale model training, evaluation, and deployment, ensuring scalability and efficiency.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with User Voice, Product, and Engineering teams to align on strategic goals, ensure effective communication, and drive project success.
  • Mentorship and Community Building: Mentor junior engineers, contribute to Canva's collective AI capability, and foster a culture of collaboration and knowledge sharing.
Requirements:
  • 5+ Years of Experience: Proven track record in machine learning or software engineering, preferably in SaaS or product environments.
  • NLP Expertise: Strong understanding of NLP concepts, experience with tools like TensorFlow, PyTorch, scikit-learn, Huggingface, Langchain.
  • Collaboration and Mentoring: Excellent collaboration and mentoring skills, with a passion for solving complex problems with others.
  • Strategic Direction: Ability to set strategic AI direction, turn it into meaningful delivery, and drive business outcomes.
