Location Flexibility

While preference will be given to candidates living full time in Kalgoorlie, we are open to discussing a FIFO arrangement for suitable candidates based in Perth. FIFO travel to Kalgoorlie would occur every 4–6 weeks as required. Salary packaging and conditions will differ for FIFO arrangements.

About The Families First Program

This is a new exciting opportunity to join Centrecare's Families First Program on a full-time, 12-month max-term contract based in Kalgoorlie. This program provides culturally appropriate, child-centred early intervention services that strengthen protective factors and promote behavioural change in children, young people and their families. There is an outreach component to this role where you will deliver support in settings where families feel most comfortable—homes, schools, community hubs and more.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver trauma-informed therapeutic counselling and outreach support to children, young people and their families.
• Conduct screening and assessments to inform client-centered case plans and referrals.
• Support protective behaviours, attachment, child development and life skills via individual and group work.
• Build strong community relationships and collaborate with schools, health services and Aboriginal communities.
• Maintain accurate, timely case notes and documentation in line with Centrecare's practice standards.

Selection Criteria

• Qualifications in Community Services, Social Work, Psychology, Counselling or related field.
• 1–3 years' experience working with children, families, and Aboriginal communities.
• Experience delivering culturally secure, strength-based support services.
• Willingness to travel and stay overnight on outreach (up to 4 nights).
• Working with Children Check and National Police Clearance.
