What you'll be doing
This expert consultancy role supports the Diabetes & Endocrine Service, offering safe, effective care to young adults. Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading clinical care and service review
  • Developing education resources for staff
  • Promoting clinical practice advancement
  • Participating in state working parties
  • Managing research and strategic service changes

Essential Criteria:

  • Current nurses registration with AHPRA with a minimum of five years full time equivalent post registration experience, with at least 3 years full time equivalent experience in Diabetes.

Selection Criteria:

  • Current nurses registration with AHPRA with a minimum of five years full time equivalent post registration experience, with at least 3 years full time equivalent experience in Diabetes.
  • Approved postgraduate nursing qualifications relevant to the field or such other qualifications or experience deemed appropriate by the WSLHD.
  • Credentialed Diabetes Educator with the Australian Diabetes Educators' Association.
  • Advanced experience in implementation of practice strategies based on principles of client-centred care, adult learning principles and clinical care.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex adolescents and young adults with Type 1 diabetes in the ambulatory setting with initiative, critical thinking and awareness of best practice in the nursing care associated with this patient group.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively, independently and within a collaborative team environment, whilst prioritising and managing own workload.
  • Demonstrated high level communication (verbal and written), negotiation, report writing and research skills.
