Overview

Generate news and current affairs stories on a wide range of subjects. The role involves producing distinctive, relevant and impactful stories for a Queensland audience with a strong emphasis on accuracy and clarity across platforms.

Responsibilities
  • Write, compile and present accurate, concise and clear stories using a creative and original approach across platforms on a daily basis
  • Proactively generate and contribute original story ideas to the discussion with newsroom leadership teams
  • Research story material, identify suitable sources, and arrange and conduct interviews to support own and others' output
  • Present live-to-air reports to a consistently high standard and participate in live Q&As

About You
  • You're a seasoned reporter with excellent research skills and demonstrated editorial judgement; accomplished in newsgathering and story production
  • You will have strong and effective multi-media production techniques with the following experience and attributes
  • A creative self-starter with proven ability in breaking stories that can bring complex issues to.
  • Accomplished presentation skills for all multi-media programming, including for Q&As and live coverage
  • Strong digital news writing skill is essential, and experience working in a cross-platform filing environment
  • Strong networks, together with knowledge of major social, economic, political, and cultural issues
