Job Description

Key Responsibilities:
  • Payroll Processing: Manage end-to-end fortnightly payroll for a large workforce, encompassing onboarding, offboarding, superannuation, and tax.
  • Compliance: Ensure adherence to all relevant regulations and policies.
  • Query Resolution: Handle payroll queries and provide timely resolutions to employees.
  • Reporting: Produce accurate payroll reports and reconciliations as required.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain up-to-date records of leave, superannuation, and tax deductions.
  • Team Collaboration: Work with HR and Finance teams to enhance payroll processes.
  • Audit Support: Assist with audits related to payroll and internal controls.
  • Confidentiality: Adhere to all confidentiality and data protection procedures.
  • New Employee Onboarding: Provide necessary mentoring, support, and training to new employees.

The Successful Candidate

To be successful in this role, you will possess:

  • Tertiary Qualification: A tertiary qualification in Payroll or Accounting is preferred.
  • Payroll Experience: Strong, long-term experience in end-to-end payroll processing and EOFY processes (7-10 years of experience).
  • Industry Expertise: Proven experience in a similar payroll role within a large organisation/similar industry.
  • Knowledge of Legislation: Strong knowledge of payroll systems and Australian payroll legislation.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
  • Pressure Handling: Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • System Experience: Strong systems experience, preferably with first-tier systems such as PeopleSoft, Aurion, or Chris21. Strong competencies in Excel are required.
