We are seeking a Senior Mental Health Clinician to join our team at NSW Health. The successful candidate will provide community-based assessment and intervention services for young people with complex mental health needs in contact with the criminal justice system.

About the Role

This is a dedicated Aboriginal/Torres Strait Islander position, and applicants must be able to prove Aboriginal descent through parentage, identification as being an Aboriginal person, and being accepted in the community as such.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide mental health assessment, intervention, and care coordination by incorporating discipline-specific recommendations to identify and formulate interventions for young people and their families experiencing crisis or mental health complexity.
  • Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to deliver evidence-based interventions that improve outcomes for young people in contact with the criminal justice system.
Requirements
  • An occupational therapist, social worker, senior psychologist, clinical psychologist, or other relevant qualification, with general registration with the relevant board under Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (Ahpra).
  • Minimum three years' clinical experience (ideally five years'), with extensive specialist knowledge or a high level of broad generalist knowledge within the discipline.
  • Valid unrestricted driver's license for use in NSW/Australia and a valid NSW Employee Working With Children Check.
