Geology Technician

The Geology Technician provides in-field and site support to Geologists by ensuring the safe transportation and handling of core samples.

• Assist in collection of core samples from field operations.
• Processing and preparation core for Geologists at the core shed:
  • Wash and label
  • Correctly orient the core in trays
  • Photograph core
  • Cut core
• Coordinate density testing on core and rock samples as required.
• Ensure the accuracy of data entry and integrity of data base is maintained.
• Ensure core is stored correctly and safely, using both mechanical and manual methods.
• Ensure core shed and surrounding area is neat and tidy at all time.
• Drilling Contractors in all areas of exploration, including core handling and siter rehabilitation.

The ideal candidate will be:

• Experienced in collecting, handling and storing core and samples (preferred).
• Possess good IT skills and accurate data entry skills.
• Be capable of working outdoors for extended periods of time in all weather conditions.
• Hold a valid manual driver's licence.
• Forklift licence is advantageous, but not essential.

• Monday – Friday 7am -3pm.
