Description: We are currently seeking an experienced professional to perform the role of Clinic Manager. The position is responsible for the effective, efficient administration and control of the health service through the provision of accurate and timely administration, clinical governance, risk management, service coordination/integration and the management of accreditation systems.
The Clinic Manager will lead the Viney Morgan AMS Health Team to provide a range of health services that assist in prevention, early detection and management of health and underlying social issues. This role requires a flexible, holistic and sensitive cultural approach to supporting community members to access services.
Key Selection Criteria (please see position description for full details):
Experience in a management and or high-level practice administrative position.
Experience in reporting to funding agencies and external stakeholders
Experience in taking a lead role in applying clinical governance and risk management frameworks
A detailed understanding of the Medicare Benefits Schedule
An understanding or experience in general practice accreditation and standards
A demonstrated knowledge of Aboriginal communities and cultures and an understanding of the issues, particularly in the health area which are affecting Aboriginal people and a demonstrated ability to communicate sensitively and effectively with Aboriginal people.
Demonstrated knowledge in the principles of primary health and associated skills to perform assessments, plan and implement health care strategies.
Participate in the development of strong and collaborative links with service providers (internal and external) to improve the health status of families and the community on a multidisciplinary basis.
Duties include (please see position description for full details):
Build and maintain a professional, optimistic, and united team that focusses on sustainable, high quality, patient centred care as per the deliverables contained in the annual business plan
Build partnerships to enhance service provision to community
Ensure clinical governance processes are in place
Coordinate and maintain outreach services and visiting specialists' schedules ensuring continuity in care
Prepare annual work plan with staff reporting to you and produce regular performance reports in accordance with CHADAC requirements of individual work plans, performance management, and reporting systems.
Develop Annual Health Service Action Plans and monitor service activity trends.
Monitor Medicare income and implement improvement strategies to increase Medicare revenue
Lead the practice in risk management and quality improvement processes
Conduct regular audits, ie, patient files, cycles of care, MBS Claims etc
