Sunshine Christian School is seeking a classroom teacher who is passionate about student-centred pedagogy, dedicated to Christian education and committed to ongoing professional development to join our friendly and supportive community. A classroom teacher position is available commencing in January 2026.

Sunshine Christian School is a Lutheran school and offers a Lutheran education to all, regardless of background. The School recognises that each person is uniquely positioned to be a blessing in the lives of others, and that this is especially so in the case of teachers with respect to the students they teach and mentor. Irrespective of personal beliefs or religion, the classroom teacher is required to be supportive of the Christian ethos and the School's role in the mission of the Lutheran Church. The successful candidate will need to have (or attain) accreditation as required by the Lutheran Church of Australia (please see position description for further details).

Key Selection Criteria

The successful applicant will have:

  • teaching qualifications and training that satisfy registration with the Victorian Institute of Teaching
  • an ability to demonstrate and exemplify the school's values of compassion, forgiveness, service and courage.
  • an excellent knowledge of the Australian Curriculum and in catering for a diverse range of learners in a multicultural classroom through varied learning opportunities and sound pedagogical principles
  • proven experience at fostering excellent relationships with children
  • a passion for teaching and learning
  • proven ability to work collegially and collaboratively with colleagues
  • a proven ability to lead staff effectively, fostering a positive and professional team culture
