Burns Beach Primary School (PS) are seeking to establish a pool of Kindergarten to Year 6 (K-6) Teachers for permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2026 school year and up to the end of Term 1, 2027. Appointments may be offered at any time for vacancies that commence during this period.
Burns Beach PS is situated in the beautiful beachside suburb of Burns Beach and opened its doors to students from Kindergarten to Year 6 in 2022. At Burns Beach PS, each and every student is known by all staff and feels strongly connected to their peers, their teachers, and the school environment. Students are at the heart of everything as the schools' aim is to make a difference in the learning and lives of all their students.

The Role
We are looking for exceptional Kindergarten to Year 6 educators who ideally display outstanding interpersonal and communication skills and are committed to supporting their students to achieve excellent educational outcomes. These skills see you establish positive and respectful relationships with your students and their families, your colleagues, and the broader school community as we build and grow our unique, inclusive, and high-performing school. In the context of a new school and a growing school population, suitable applicants will ideally display professional flexibility and the ability to anticipate and adapt to changing circumstances as they arise.
In this role, you will ideally create a positive, inclusive, and connected learning environment where all students have a strong sense of belonging. Your teaching and learning should be engaging, authentic and relevant, and centred on the needs of your students. Suitable applicants will ideally possess the following personal attributes:

Our whole school, evidence-based approaches ensure that every student acquires the core literacy and numeracy skills, as well as the knowledge, understanding and attitudes to become confident 21st century learners. Our school supports our students to develop a depth of learning appropriate to students' phase of development, in all learning areas of the Western Australian Curriculum, along with the general capabilities and cross-curriculum priorities.
Teachers within our ECE phase of learning should promote the principles of the Early Years Learning Framework and National Quality Standards. They will ideally recognise that children need opportunities to interact and build trusting relationships. Programs include planned, purposeful play, balanced with the explicit teaching of essential foundation skills and concepts. We implement Sounds-Write as our whole school structured synthetic phonics program. Suitable applicants will ideally demonstrate a strong understanding of the importance of implementing a structured synthetic phonics program with fidelity.
The ability to establish genuine, positive, and caring relationships with our students is paramount. Our pastoral care whole school approaches ensure each student is engaged, belongs, and feels connected to our school. Knowledge, understanding and experience in implementing Classroom Management Strategies (CMS), Instructional Strategies for Engagement (ISE), Positive Behaviour Support (PBS), The Zones of Regulation and Protective Behaviours is highly desirable. We work as a team to support our students to successfully develop their dispositions for learning such as curiosity, openness, optimism, resilience, concentration and, critical and creative thinking.
At Burns Beach PS we learn from, and relate respectfully with, people from our own culture as well as other cultures. All staff and students are supported to understand, acknowledge, and celebrate the diversity and richness of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander histories and cultures.
Suitable applicants should be committed to reflective classroom teaching practices and actively participate in a school-wide, self-reflective culture of professional growth focussed on improving classroom teaching. All educators will ideally take a personal and collective responsibility for improving student learning and wellbeing and should work together and learn from each other's practices, utilising strategies such as peer observations and walkthroughs. Burns Beach PS educators participate in whole school, phase of learning and curriculum teams to contribute to whole school approaches to teaching and learning.

- consent to a Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check and obtain a current Screening Clearance Number issued by the Department of Education's Screening Unit before you start.
