ResponsibilitiesAs an Early Childhood Teacher, you will be responsible for developing and delivering the funded kindergarten programs within our long day care setting. This role involves working in partnership with the leadership team to plan a rich and diverse educational program including community excursions and in-house incursions and programs. Essential duties and responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
- Design and implement interdisciplinary and play-based learning experiences that incorporate language, literacy, maths, science, and technology, ensuring alignment with curriculum goals and learning frameworks.
- Develop and advocate for pedagogical practices and curriculum responses that promote inclusion, equity, and diversity, respecting and valuing the diverse cultural, economic, and religious backgrounds of all learners, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children.
- Maintain a safe and healthy environment for children by implementing effective safety policies, promoting health and hygiene practices, and creating supportive and nurturing learning spaces that foster children's physical, cognitive, and emotional development.
- Plan, conduct, and evaluate educational excursions and outdoor learning experiences that enrich children's learning, promote environmental stewardship, and support their physical, cognitive, and social development.
- Identify and pursue professional and personal learning needs through ongoing development activities, engaging in reflective practice, and participating in the academic community to ensure continuous improvement of teaching competencies.
- Engage critically and reflectively with academic texts, uphold principles of academic integrity, and contribute to the academic community by sharing insights, research findings, and best practices in early childhood education.
- Bachelor of Education (in Early Childhood Education) and VIT Registration
- Proven experience with 3 & 4 Year Old Kindergarten programs
- High-level knowledge & understanding of the Early Years Learning Framework and National Quality Standards
- Current & Valid Working with Children check
- First Aid and CPR certificates including Asthma and Anaphylaxis training
- Experience working with children with a range of abilities and interests
