Senior Analyst, Line 1 Risk, Compliance - 24 Month Contract. This is an initial 24 month contract with the potential view to extension.
You will strengthen our compliance capability within the first line of defence, promote a proactive compliance culture, identify and mitigate regulatory risks, and ensure adherence to internal standards and external obligations. You'll support Business Unit teams in embedding effective compliance controls, translating regulatory requirements into practical solutions, and uplifting the control environment. Working closely with Line 2, Internal Audit, and other stakeholders, you'll provide compliance advice, contribute to risk-in-change assessments, and help drive remediation and monitoring activities. This role offers the opportunity to collaborate across divisions, contribute to governance forums, and support the delivery of BOQ Group's Compliance Strategy. You'll help ensure compliance is owned and managed at the source, helping the business stay ahead of regulatory expectations.
Responsibilities- Support Business Unit teams in embedding effective compliance controls and translating regulatory requirements into practical solutions.
- Identify and mitigate regulatory risks and uplift the control environment.
- Provide compliance advice and contribute to risk-in-change assessments in collaboration with Line 2 Internal Audit and other stakeholders.
- Drive remediation and monitoring activities to ensure ongoing compliance.
- Collaborate across divisions and contribute to governance forums and the delivery of BOQ Group's Compliance Strategy.
- Bachelor's degree in Law, Finance, Business, Risk Management, or a related field is essential.
- Strong background in regulatory risk in financial services; understanding of APRA, ASIC, and other regulatory bodies.
- Experience designing and implementing compliance controls that are effective and practical.
- Analytical mindset with attention to detail; ability to identify control gaps and assess compliance risks.
- Ability to use compliance monitoring tools and simplify complex regulatory requirements; strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
- Professional certifications such as AACI or ACI 10980NAT are highly regarded.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with compliance frameworks.
