Employment Type: Permanent Full Time

Description:

Purposeful work with genuinely good people. That's refreshing.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced surveyor to step into a dynamic and high-growth industry. In this role, you'll deliver essential survey and mapping services to validate easements and assess proposed works near electricity transmission infrastructure. You'll be at the forefront of assessing and approving town planning and subdivision applications, as well as evaluating works in and around transmission easements, ensuring compliance with electrical safety regulations.

Your work will directly contribute to the safety and reliability of AusNet's operations by maintaining critical land, easement, and statutory rights while supporting public compliance with electric line clearance and safety standards.

If you're ready to apply your surveying expertise, make a meaningful impact, and grow your career in a vital industry, this is the perfect opportunity to take the next step

This role will deliver real outcomes, including but not limited to:

  • Manage planning and subdivision referrals, ensuring easement protection and approval of land development within set timeframes.
  • Conduct various surveys, including control, monitoring, and feature/level surveys, while maintaining Terminal Station datums and 3D LiDAR models.
  • Approve and issue permits for works within transmission easements, supervising compliance with safety standards.
  • Handle public inquiries and Permit to Work requests through Dial Before You Dig, maintaining and updating critical infrastructure data.
  • Update and maintain GIS spatial data, including easement details, tower locations, and underground cables, for infrastructure planning.
  • Respond to easement inquiries from the public, councils, and authorities, and support major infrastructure projects affecting AusNet assets.
  • Negotiate with landowners for transmission works on private properties, and provide support for customer complaint resolution and asset information needs.

You don't need to check every box; however, we are looking for a good combination of:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Surveying, including a Diploma or Certificate.
  • Experienced in using CAD software (MicroStation or AutoCAD).
  • Proficient in using GPS and Total Stations.
  • Previous experience in survey or mapping roles related to linear infrastructure is advantageous.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Professional presentation of yourself and the business.
  • Electricity infrastructure experience is a plus but not essential.
  • Effective time management and the ability to work autonomously within a team environment.
