Are you a dynamic leader with a passion for financial planning? We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Financial Planning Manager to join our team and make a significant impact on our members' financial futures.

The opportunity

As the Financial Planning Manager, you will be at the forefront of transforming our financial planning services. Reporting directly to the Head of Advice, you will ensure the efficient, effective, and compliant delivery of Hostplus' financial planning services nationwide. You will lead, manage, coach, and mentor a team of talented financial planners, driving them to achieve excellence in advice standards, productivity, and cost recovery. Your leadership will ensure that our members receive the highest quality advice and service, tailored to their unique financial needs and goals.

In this role, you will also be a key player in developing and managing strategic relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including AFSL service providers, audit and compliance partners, and other business partners. Your ability to build and nurture these relationships will be crucial in enhancing our service delivery and achieving our business objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Inspire and guide your team of financial planners to deliver exceptional personal advice and services to Hostplus members and non-members.
  2. Oversee the operational, reporting, and administrative functions of the financial planning team, ensuring maximum efficiency and an outstanding member experience.
  3. Maintain a robust understanding of operational compliance and conduct regular quality monitoring of advice meetings and files to uphold our high standards.
  4. Provide insightful and timely reporting on financial planning activities, including advice quality, compliance, productivity, and member satisfaction.
  5. Investigate and resolve advice complaints with professionalism and adherence to Hostplus' policies and protocols.
  6. Host and present at Hostplus advice-related events such as webinars, seminars, and symposiums, showcasing your expertise and representing Hostplus with pride.

About you

  1. Proven Leadership: Demonstrated success in managing and leading a financial planning team to achieve key performance areas.
  2. Educational Excellence: Meet FASEA education requirements, including passing the FASEA exam.
  3. Professional Registration: Registered as an existing adviser on the ASIC Financial Advice Register between 1 January 2016 and 31 December 2018, and a registered tax (financial) adviser with the Tax Practitioners Board or relevant tax and commercial law units completed.
