The Opportunity

Austal is currently looking for a Painter Blaster. They will assist with general labouring, preparation, and cleaning tasks within a shipyard environment. Austal aims to grow its paint & blast team and will provide full training.

What's involved
  • Assist the Painters/Blasters with sanding, painting, and blasting.
  • Confined space entry sentry and fire sentry duties.
  • Maintain a clean and tidy work environment with an aim to minimise waste in all forms.
  • Hold self and workmates accountable to high safety standards.
You'll need
  • Ability to use general tools safely.
  • Trade certified or experienced in industrial painting/blasting.
  • White Card.
  • Previous painting or blasting experience is desirable.
  • Pre-employment medical and drug & alcohol screening required as part of onboarding.
  • Strong safety focus.
