The Project

UGL and CPB Contractors have been selected by Transgrid to deliver the ~140km western section of the HumeLink high voltage electricity transmission project.

We are looking for Transmission Linespersons to join our team onsite.

HumeLink is a new 500kV transmission project connecting Wagga Wagga, Maragle, and Bannaby in regional NSW, significantly increasing the capacity of Australia's eastern electricity network. It is one of Australia's largest energy infrastructure projects, with about 365km of proposed new transmission lines and other infrastructure.

The HumeLink West scope, valued at $1.4bn, includes delivery of new 500kV double circuit transmission lines spanning ~140km from Wagga Wagga Substation to a new substation at Gugaa, the Interface Point with HumeLink East near Gundagai, and a new substation at Maragle for future connection to Snowy 2.0.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Climbing transmission structures
• Upgrading and constructing new and existing assets
• Studying and interpreting technical drawings, network line diagrams, and maps
• Liaising with Network Operator Inspectors and customers
• Completing risk assessments
• Maintaining work progress plans
• Installing and maintaining conductors, aerial equipment, and underground cables
• Installing and maintaining electrical supply equipment
• Responding to electrical breakdowns and emergencies
• Adhering to site-specific health and safety policies and procedures

About You

• Experience working on Transmission lines
• Trade Certificate (Certificate 3 Transmission Linesman) - Desirable
• Construction White Card
• Work at Heights
• Tower Rescue
• EWP
• Dogging and Rigging licences
• High risk work licence
• First Aid and CPR Trained (Desirable)
